Why We’re Here

I’m a mole with a flashlight

The mole really is a meandering creature.  And because they’re blind they don’t always see what they’re looking for even if it’s right in front of them.  They literally live in darkness (no really, they do).  And that’s where I come in.

I’m here to show you the light at the end of the tunnel, so to speak. This blog is all about visiting neat places that you may or may not know about – whether it’s a shack serving up tasty grub or an in-the-middle-of-nowhere camping spot.  Some places are REALLY local (there’s only one location in the whole wide world) and others are well-established.

Either way, where you meander is up to you.  I’m just holding the flashlight and pointing it at anything I deem worthy of sharing.

In my meanderings I hope to find something unexpected in the most unexpected places so I can share it with you.  If a chain pops up on this blog every once in a while – so be it.  Must mean it’s pretty damn special.

Everything I write about has:

a. an original aspect,

b. a special quality

c. or represents what I believe to be meandering-worthy.  In other words, it’s awesome and I want you to know about it.

And finally, I am a firm believer in doing three things as much as possible:

1. Shopping locally

2. Supporting family and privately owned businesses

3. Giving Mother Nature a big hug now and again.

This blog encompasses all of these.

When I’m not meandering around looking for cool things to photograph and write about, I’m ending homelessness in the Bay Area.  Helping people is one of my passions, and ultimately that’s my goal with this blog: to bring to light the places we need to experience and the people we need to meet so we can all help each other be successful in pursing our passions and learn at least one new thing.  Education and passion when smashed together will accomplish great things.  They make the world go round.

Compassion and love do, too. ..not gonna argue with that.

So, as a mole might say – dig in!

Thanks for meandering with me.
